US companies are getting “greener”. Either they are responding to the desires of the public or growing large corporate consciences. Maybe a little bit of both.
According to USA Today, the following companies are taking steps to SEND nothing to landfills:
- Dupont composts cafeteria leftovers and and uses scrap materials to create new products.
- The US Army diverts a good amount of construction materials already from landfills, but it has a zero landfill policy in place for 2020.
- Automakers like Subaru, Toyota and Honda are already at zero-waste levels.
This still may mean that companies are burning trash, or spending excessive amounts to recycle products that should not have been generated in the first place.
What companies do you admire for their waste practices? Which companies do you avoid?
