Support the New Bag Bans Being Considered in Los Angeles and Boulder! Is your town considering a ban? Let us know so we can rally support there too!

The city of Los Angeles moved a little closer to a sweeping bag ban this week, according to this Brentwood Patch article.  Despite the tone of the CBS LA piece in Ethan’s blog a few weeks ago, it looks like politicians are warming to the idea that a bit of inconvenience might be worth a step toward cleaning up the planet.

And some high school and middle school students in Boulder, Colorado, have lobbied the City Council to impose a bag ban.  The proposed options for plastic bag usage in the city are part of an update to the city’s Zero Waste Master Plan – read more here from the Huffington Post.

    I think that Santa Cruz, CA recently passed a strict bag ban too. (although, I just read the law is being challenged in court by “Save the Plastic Bag Coalition”. (!) )

    Austin, TX is considering a plastic bag ban in city council. Population polls suggests that voters are 50/50 on it.
