It’s almost time to start thinking about resolutions. A great one that we at Bag It recommend? Reduce your packaging in the New Year!
In this spirit, we would like to provide you with two easy ways. If you have more ideas, please let us know!
Number One: Make your own kombucha! Kombucha has been touted as a cure-all for digestion and immune problems and a good source of vitamin B. It’s important to make your kombucha in sterile conditions, and in glass containers, if you try it at home.
Here’s a great site with instructions for a home kombucha brew. This can save you hundreds of individual glass bottles throughout the year.
Number Two: Another plastic-packaged product I buy frequently and consume quickly is hummus. Here’s a great recipe from the Moosewood Cookbook to make your own delicious concoction from dried chickpeas. Not only do you skip the plastic packaging, you also avoid the BPAs that come along with canned chickpeas. Enjoy!
